Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has been updating their line of processors. No kidding, the processor manufacturer is the second largest in the world at the same time presenting the latest six-model Athlon II.
Everything is made in 45 nanometer production technology.
Of the six processors are provided, as quoted from Legitreviews, Wednesday, May 12, 2010, two of which are dual-core Athlon II ie X2 X2 245e and 260. The other two triple-core is the Athlon II X3 X3 415e and 445. The two remaining are the cheap quad core X4 X4 610e and 640.
For dual-core version, the processor is available starting at prices around U.S. $ 76 and U.S. $ 77 for X2 X2 260 and 245e. X2 260 version runs at a speed of 3.2 GHz, have 2MB of L2 cache and uses 65 watts maximum power. X2 version of the 245e has a 2.9 GHz speed, L2 cache that is the same size, but the maximum power usage is lower, ie 45 watts.
415e X3 triple-core version has a speed of 2.5 GHz, 1.5 MB L2 cache, and a maximum of 45 watts of power. X3 445 version has a speed of 3.1 GHz, L2 cache as large but the maximum power of 95 watts. The price of each in the range of U.S. $ 102 for the X3 416e and U.S. $ 87 445 for the X3.
The most interesting of course is because X4 quad-core processor 610e is only sold at the price range of U.S. $ 145, and 640 even cheaper X4, namely U.S. $ 122. X4 610 uses 45 watts maximum power with a speed of 2.4 GHz, while the X4 640, with 95 watts of work at 3GHz. Both have 2MB of L2 cache.
